We see a hairline crack starting in the lower bed, too, right along the hardware insertion point. If they were bunked, our toddler would be injured or dead. Excellent Choice I must agree with the reviews that are listed here. Well designed and constructed with excellent quality hardwood. This bed is rock solid. Delivered to us in three cartons with all needed hardware. The instructions could be written better but as long as you carefully match the picture on the instructions with the piece needed you will be ok. Completed assembly in 2 hours.
