Bed ladder I would have given it a 5 star rating if the ladder had flat steps instead of round ones. I think it would be safe for the kids. It is a sturdy bed and was easy to assemble. One my guardrails was damaged on delivery, but Amazon is replacing it. The bed itself is very well made.

This was a great bed. It fits nicely in a 12×12 room. My sons were happy to see their new bed, until son “A” had to use the ladder to get to the top bunk. He complained that that ladder dug into the soles of his feet and that it was a very painful climb. This ladder needs to be re-designed. My husband tried to climb the bed and said that it was indeed very painful on his feet. Great bed but horrible ladder.
