It is a great first woodworking project or family project. This loft raises the bed off of the floor freeing up floor space for other uses like a chest or shelves. It uses a standard full-size mattress. The loft bed measures 66 1/2″ in height, by 57 1/2″ wide, by 81″ long with 48 inches of clearance beneath and can easily accommodate adult weight. The finished bed will stand up to daily use for many years and continue to look nice. Many of the beds we have manufactured have been in daily use in hotels, camps, shelters and other institutions for 15 years or more, supporting adult weight and still look great.
